A catch-all email mailbox is one that captures all the messages sent to inactive addresses. For example, if your email address is info@domain.com, but someone miswrites it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have configured. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss emails because the other side has an obsolete address or has made a typographical error. The downside of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of spam messages, but this problem can be resolved using anti-spam protection software. It is also crucial to know that a mailbox with an active catch-all functionality cannot forward inbound emails to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

In case you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you have a cloud hosting account, you will be able to enable the catch-all feature for any mailbox that you create under the domain. The Email Manager section of the Hepsia Control Panel offers quite a lot of features, but it is remarkably simple to use, so creating a catch-all mailbox requires just a single click. All the email addresses that you’ve set up will be listed in this section alphabetically and you will only need to click the "Catch-all" button for the particular address. Our system will alert you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain name or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either disable the latter feature or choose a different mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as simple and takes yet another click on the exact same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

A catch-all email address can be configured with a few mouse clicks in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated server with us. The hosting account will be managed via our custom-developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to set up mailboxes using any domain hosted there. To activate the catch-all feature for a given mailbox, you’ll have to click the sign with the exact same name, which will be to the right of each email address. Deactivating this functionality can be done in the exact same fashion and will not take more than a click either. In case the catch-all option has already been activated for a certain domain name, you will get a warning. The same is valid if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never disable or edit anything automatically.
